Pennsylvania Pedalcycle and Pedestrian Advisory Council (PPAC)

The purpose of the Pedalcycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee is to advise and comment on all phases of cycling and pedestrian program activities being undertaken or financially assisted by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and agencies of state government. This is a governor appointed position outlined in Title 75, the PA Vehicle Code.

League of American Bicyclists Bicycle Friendly State Rankings and Report Card

The Bike League assesses each state and provides a report card explaining how to improve their ranking. Pennsylvania is usually mid-pack in the low teens and has dropped to #19.

Safe Routes Partnership Report Card

The Safe Routes Partnership developed state report cards which provide a snapshot of how supportive each state is of walking, bicycling, and physical activity for children and adults.

The report cards primarily look at state policy, focusing on four key areas: Complete Streets and Active Transportation Policy and Planning, Federal and State Active Transportation Funding, Safe Routes to School Funding and Supportive Practices, and Active Neighborhoods and Schools.
